My Personal Motivation

As a business owner and founder doing business all over the US, I’ve had the privilege of traveling and gaining incredible experiences. Throughout my life, I’ve formed lifelong friendships from high school, college, and my professional endeavors. However, for work, after moving several times since my late twenties I’ve found it challenging to establish new and meaningful friendships. It can be exhausting to invest effort in socializing, especially when it often feels fruitless. I know I’m not alone in wishing for a close-knit group of people who are genuinely interested in spending time together—friends I want to invest in for the long term, rather than just casual acquaintances.

In conversations with friends from different cities, we all agree that making new friends is increasingly difficult. Interestingly, many acknowledge that, in the post-Tinder world, forming friendships can be even harder than dating. This modern challenge is not going away; in fact, it seems to be worsening, and we all recognize it.

Casual online meetups, one-off community events, and work functions simply aren’t enough to foster real connections. Noticing this gap, I spontaneously decided to take the initiative and create my own community to address this issue.
